QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGES

German is my native language.
English was the first foreign language I learned at school. It was also the main language of my first job training as a foreign language correspondent.
French was my second foreign language after English. I learned it in school for 4 years and reached an intermediate level. But sadly, I hardly used it for the next 10 years – until 2024, when I got a French teacher from Senegal who helped me prepare for a trip to West Africa, where I finally learned to speak fluently.
Spanish has been the language I put my main focus on. Being the main subject of my translators' training, Spanish is the language I'm able to interpret and do sworn translations in.
Serbian, was the first language I completely self-studied while living in Belgrade. After five years, I successfully passed my C1 exam and now work as a translator and interpreter from Serbian.
Turkish is a language I started learning in early 2022 for a trip through Turkey. During that time, I reached a lower-intermediate level. I paused Turkish after my trip but got back to it in 2026, currently working towards a B1 level.

TRAVELS

At the age of 17, I had the chance to go abroad for the first time: During the holidays of my first job training, I did an internship in a hotel in France.

A year later, I spent a year in a fishing village in Ecuador, and a few years after that, another year in Montevideo, Uruguay. Two formative stays that not only revealed the diverse linguistic and cultural facets of South America, but above all raised questions about the world and myself that I still asking myself to this day.

After that, I spent four years in Serbia. I embarked on this stay with almost no prior knowledge of the language. My intention to learn Serbian as quickly as possible in order to work as an interpreter soon turned into a personal project, during which I explored language learning methods in depth.

At the end of 2024, I spent two months traveling through West Africa . During this time, I not only got to know and love Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, and Mauritania but also fulfilled a long-held dream — finally becoming fluent in French.
